Foam Tyres
There are many makes to choose from but the most popular over the past 4 years or so with the MTC class are without a doubt the Contact RC Racing Foam Tyres. As there are no dedicated MTC wheels at the moment everyone uses old GQ wheels (see picture below). So when your GQ foams are worn out you have to go through the re gluing and truing process using a minature tyre truer. Then once this is process done you will have fresh Contact foams on GQ wheels as used by the 2019 MTC National Champion.
The most common compounds for MTC racing are as follows.
JM35 Rear Yellow stripe.
JM37 Rear Red stripe.
JM40 Rear/Front Blue stripe.
JM42 Front No stripe.
JM47 Front No stripe.

GQ are foam tyres that come in 3 compounds. Hard, Medium and Soft.
They are pre glued to 9 spoke wheels giving the best flex option over any other wheel design. They come pre trued to 55mm but it has been found by racers that truing them down to 52mm is the optimum starting point, also glueing the side walls can reduce chunking and reduce grip roll.
