Welcome to the MTC Nationals website.
MTC stands for Mini Touring Car. Which is exactly what they are, a smaller version of their big brothers that race at the BRCA Nationals and Clubmans and all over the world.
Being more of a 1/12 scale makes these great and relatively cheap compared to their bigger 1/10 TC versions. Kits range from £80 to £350. Another benefit is that they are perfect for smaller clubs where 1/10 sometimes struggle for room, but they still at home on larger tracks.
These chassis have been around for some years now with Atomic, Xray and Xpress being some of the first manufacturers to make chassis's many years ago, but they never really caught on. Over the past 4 years or so and more recently last winter there has been a huge growth in numbers with many clubs and Winter Championships catering for the class and it has also run as a support class for the BRCA GT12 section at some meetings.
At the moment there are several chassis to choose from with Sport and Pro versions available to suit everyone's pockets. There's also a choice of shaft or belt drive. Also available are after market conversion kits that you can use to convert some very well know 1/10 cars into a MTC by using donor parts from existing old cars.
The Summer of 2019 saw the first ever MTC National Championship being held around the country from as far North as Leeds and all the way down to Torquay. The 6 meetings were all held indoors at small and large clubs giving everyone chance to hold a round of the series. Classes were for both foam and rubber tyres as both are used throughout the country at various clubs.
There are several Facebook pages dedicated to the MTC class, including the MTC Nationals page were all the relevant information can be found for the series.
