MTC Nationals Rules 2021
The following rules are intended for use at the MTC Nationals.
Clubs or Series are more than welcome to adopt all or parts of them as they see fit.
MTC National Classes.
MTC Rubber Class.
Any chassis from the MTC Nationals Rubber and Foam approved chassis list.
MTC Foam Class.
Any chassis from the MTC Nationals Rubber and Foam approved chassis list.
MTC Open Class.
Any chassis from the MTC Nationals Open class approved chassis list.
Prototype chassis or conversion kits will also be allowed. Optional parts from any MTC or TC may be used.

Note: New kits or conversions may be added to the lists at the Organisers discretion.
Construction rules.
Dimensions and weight.
1. Maximum track width 168mm. Measured across the track width centre line above the axels.
2. Wheelbase. This may be altered on every kit or conversion by using spacers as intended by the manufacturer. The minimum wheelbase is 208mm. The maximum wheelbase is 227mm. Any wheelbase between these measurements is allowed.
Wishbones or wishbone hangers cannot be modified to achieve this by removing material.
3. MTC Rubber, Foam and Open Classes Minimum weight 1220 grams.
4. Minimum ride height 5.0mm.
MTC Optional parts.
1. Optional parts are any items that are not supplied in the kit.
2. Optional parts designed and made specifically for the use on MTC cars are allowed to be used on
any MTC kit.
3. Aftermarket Carbon Chassis do not count towards the cost cap providing:- They maintain the OEM kit component mounting positions/wheelbase and are priced the same as the OEM replacement part. They may have a slightly different profile/thickness to aid impact resistance.
4. Aftermarket Shock Towers do not count towards the cost cap providing they are priced the same as OEM kit supplied part. They may have a different profile/mounting holes to the original.
5. The following parts are also allowed from any brand of TC manufacturer. Servo savers, track rod ends. Turnbuckles, springs, shock absorbers, rollbars. You may also use any shock/diff oil you wish.
Parts in point 2 count towards a cost cap of £400 including the cost of the car as shown on page 1. Parts in point 3, 4 and 5 do not count towards your cost cap. Any car running prototype parts or a cost with optional parts in excess of £400 will only be eligible for the open class.
NOTE:- Parts to be considered included in the RRP M4 Pro conversion are as follows. RRP Chassis, top deck, belts. 20M motor mount/pulley and all required mounting hardware. 20M hangers. Top deck post and xray flex lock/bearing. M4 Pro donor car.
MTC LiPo’s and Charging.
1. LiPo batteries must be 2 cell (2S), commercially available and hard cased.
2. Maximum charging rate and discharging rate not exceed 10 amps.
3. LiPo battery charging must be carried out with the LiPo in a fire proof charging bag (LiPo sack)
with any zip or fastener closed fully.
4. Fully charged LiPos must not exceed 4.20 volts per cell, 8.40 volts per pack. There will be LiPo Voltage checks at all meetings. Max pack voltage is 8.40v. 1st offence for over volting will be a warning; you must then rev the car and re-check voltage. 2nd offence, you will leave the venue and series, no refunds and reported to the BRCA.

MTC Nationals Open Class.
- Any motor from the MTC Nationals Rubber and Foam Classes motor list.
- Any 17.5 motor from the BRCA Homologation list.
Motor modifications are not allowed. They are to be run as they come out of the box at the time
of purchase. No aftermarket alloy screws or ceramic bearings may be used.
13.5 motors of any brand may be used but only when using a 1 cell LIPo and ESC which must be set
to Blinky mode. This is an ongoing rule which is intended for GT12 racers moving to the MTC class.
Please note: This combination is slower than the approved MTC motor and ESC combinations.
There will be Motor checks to insure that MTC legal motors are being used for the Rubber and Foam classes. This will be done randomly throughout qualifying and finals.

MTC Tyres, Wheels and inserts.
MTC Rubber Class.
1 set of 4 Factory pre glued Rush wheels, tyres and inserts in any combination of compound allowed for the day. No build your own mix and match will be allowed. Wheels to be marked during round 1 of qualifying. Wheels must have your BRCA number permanently marked on the inside of the wheels.
Any water based tyre additive is allowed as per the BRCA 1/12 approved additives list.
MTC Foam Class.
2 sets (8 wheels) of Contact, Rage or GQ foam tyres allowed for the day.
These may have the worn foam replaced before each round of the series but not during the day.
Minimum tyre diameter before any race 48mm. Minimum wheel width 25mm. Max wheel diameter 43mm.
Wheels to be marked during round 1 of qualifying. Wheels must have your BRCA number permanently marked on the inside of the wheels.

MTC Open Class.
Rubbers: Any commercially available compound of Factory pre glued Rubber tyre sets from the following list will be allowed. No build your own mix and match will be allowed:
Pit Shimizu, Rush, Solaris, Sweep, Volante.
Foams: Pre glued Contact, Rage or GQ foam tyres. These may have the worn foam replaced before each round of the series but not during the day.
Minimum tyre diameter before any race 48mm. Minimum wheel width 25mm. Max wheel diameter 43mm.

MTC Body Shells & Wings.
1. Any body shell that represents a 4 door Touring car and designed for a chassis with a wheel base that is adjustable from 208mm to 227mm wheelbase.
No GT12 styled body shells.
2. All body shells must be cut to the manufactures cut lines.
3. Minimum Roof height (excluding wing) 95mm
4. Only wings included with the body are allowed and must be cut to the manufactures cut lines. No
3D printed wings or Carbon fibre wings.
5. Body shell must be painted. Windows may be tinted but not blacked out.
6. Body shells must be of Polycarbonate / Lexan form. ABS or any other hard plastics are not
allowed.
7. Body posts are not to extend further than 15mm past the fixing pin securing the body shell.
8. Lights and grills must be defined.
9. 1 race number must be used on the front windscreen.
The MTC Committee will review any rising issues throughout the season and rectify them at its
earliest convenience and for the good of the class, the racers and the series.
All racers will be informed of the outcome via the MTC Nationals Facebook page.
